Citizens Advice East Sussex
Citizens Advice East Sussex (CAES) was established as a legal entity in 2005 and is a consortium of the eight Citizens Advice Bureaux operating as five legal entities across East Sussex. Each Bureau retains its own status as an independent charity with its own governance and management arrangements.
Citizens Advice East Sussex provides added value by enabling new cross-boundary and county-wide initiatives to be undertaken and facilitating a co-ordinated and consistent approach to service delivery.
'The 8 CAB's offer a wide range of Quality Assured General Advice including welfare benefits, relationship breakdown and domestic violence, housing problems, consumer issues including fraud, employment and personal debt.
CAES's role within ESAP is to provide a gateway into specialist advice provision across East Sussex as well as to provide specialist casework service for money and employment advice, Debt Advice and casework and Employment advice and casework at Specialist advice level across East Sussex.

Brighton Housing Trust - Eastbourne Advice Centre & Hastings Advice
Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) has a 25 year history of delivering legal services and is a Sussex-based charity providing specialist advice in housing, debt, social welfare benefits and immigration. BHT also provides a wide range of supported housing, addiction, mental health and day services.
BHT’s role within ESAP is providing specialist advice in Housing and Welfare Benefits in Eastbourne and specialist advice in Housing in Hastings, through booked appointments and drop-in advice sessions. Specialist Advisors are also undertaking Outreach Advice Services in a range of venues in East Sussex including:- Newhaven Community Development Association and Crowborough, Uckfield and Hailsham Citizens Advice Bureaux.

HARC
Hastings Advice and Representation Centre (HARC) provides a unique service offering information, advice and representation on all aspects of the welfare benefits and tax credits system to the population of Hastings and Rother.
The main aims and objectives are, to improve the quality of life and, relieve poverty for our clients, through the provision of comprehensive advice and advocacy on welfare benefits and tax credits. We aim to ensure the correct benefit is received by anyone on a low-income and we are confident our work assists people with disabilities, mental health issues or long-term illness to live independently in their own homes.
We do all of this by providing free impartial, confidential advice by phone, drop in service, appointments, email, surgeries and home visits. We also represent clients at social security, disability and medical appeal tribunals. |
